Description:Here you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, ensuring that the turbos are genuine. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subject their turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always receive a top product. This includes, among others, a 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked, as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is conducted, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all double ball bearing, finely balanced and oil- and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series which are mostly plain bearing. The GTX series differs from the standard GT by having a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades leading to higher performance and slightly better response. Its important for ball bearing turbos not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an Oil Restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used. A ball bearing turbo typically responds about 400-500 RPM sooner than a plain bearing one. When selecting the right turbocharger, ask us or verify directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There, all specifications such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings are available.
