Description:Here you will receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We procure these from Garrett distributors, ensuring you that the turbos are authentic. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always receive a top product. This includes a 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett engineering laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is conducted, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, finely balanced, and feature oil and water cooling. There is also the older generation T series that is mostly journal bearing. The GTX series is distinguished from the standard GT by having a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, leading to increased power and slightly better response. Its important for ball-bearing turbochargers not to receive too much oil pressure. Hence, an Oil Restrictor with a 0.9mm hole is used. A ball-bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM sooner than a journal bearing turbo. When selecting the right turbocharger, consult us or verify directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There you will find all information such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings.
