Description:Here you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subject the turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always get a top product. Among others, a 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Laboratory is conducted, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is tested as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is performed, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, precision balanced and oil and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series which are mostly sleeve bearing. The GTX series differs from the normal GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades which leads to more power and slightly better response. It is important for the ball bearing turbos not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used. A ball bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM sooner than a sleeve bearing one. When selecting the right turbocharger consult us or check directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There you will find all details like exhaust housing options, product description, performance map and drawings.
