Description:Here you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, ensuring you receive authentic turbos. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to multiple qualification tests, meaning you always receive a top product. Among other tests, a 1000-hour durability test is conducted on an engine in a Garrett Engineering lab, a thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is tested, as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is conducted, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, precision balanced, and oil and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series which are mostly journal bearing. The GTX series differs from the standard GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, leading to more power and slightly better response. It is important for ball-bearing turbos that they do not receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used. A ball-bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM faster than a journal-bearing turbo. For selecting the correct turbocharger, ask us or verify directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There, all data such as turbine housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings are available.
