Description:You will receive an original Garrett turbocharger from us. We source these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure that the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that submits its turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always get a top product. This includes a 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked, as well as material fatigue, a vibration test is carried out, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all double ball bearing, finely balanced and oil and water cooled. There is also the older generation T series which are mostly sleeve bearing. The GTX series differs from the normal GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades, which leads to more power and slightly better response. It is important for ball-bearing turbochargers that they do not receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm hole is used. A ball-bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM sooner than a sleeve-bearing one. When selecting the right turbocharger, ask us or check directly on the manufacturers homepage http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There you will find all information such as exhaust housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings.
