Description:
With us, you get an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, so you can be sure that the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to several qualification tests, meaning you always get a top product. A 1000-hour durability test is conducted on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Laboratory, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is tested along with material fatigue, a vibration test is carried out, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, precision balanced and oil- and water-cooled. Theres also the older T series which are usually sleeve bearing. The GTX series differs from the regular GT in that they have a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades which leads to more power and slightly better responsiveness. Its important for the ball bearing turbocharger not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an Oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used. A ball bearing turbo responds approximately 400-500 RPM sooner than a sleeve bearing one. When selecting the right turbocharger, ask us or make sure directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There you will find all information like exhaust housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings.
