Description:At our store, you receive an original Garrett turbocharger. We source these from Garrett distributors, ensuring the turbos are original. Garrett is one of the few turbocharger manufacturers that subjects the turbos to multiple qualification tests, meaning you always get a top product. A 1000-hour durability test on an engine in a Garrett Engineering Laboratory is conducted, thrust bearing test, the maximum tolerance of the bearing system is checked, as well as material fatigue. A vibration test is also performed, etc.
The Garrett GT and GTX series are all dual ball bearing, precision balanced, and oil- and water-cooled. There is also the older generation T series which are mostly sleeve bearing. The GTX series differentiates from the standard GT by having a special, larger compressor wheel with more blades leading to increased performance and slightly better response. It is important for the ball bearing turbochargers not to receive too much oil pressure. Therefore, an oil restrictor with a 0.9mm bore is used. A ball bearing turbo has a comparative response roughly 400-500 RPM sooner than a sleeve bearing. For the right turbocharger selection, ask us or verify directly on the manufacturers website http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/turbochargers. There, you will find all details like turbine housing options, product description, performance map, and drawings.
