The upgrade intercooler is installed in the wheel arch, between the turbocharger and the intake manifold. It is simply exchanged 1:1 with the original intercooler. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air that has been heated by the turbocharger. By cooling down the compressed air, a larger volume of air mass can enter the combustion chamber and more fuel can be burned, resulting in increased power and efficiency. The lower the temperature of the compressed air, the lower the thermal stress on the engine and the turbocharger, as the turbocharger requires less rpm for the same air mass. Fuel consumption is also reduced and the engine achieves slightly better exhaust values, provided that the control unit is adjusted accordingly. It is important to ensure that the intercooler receives as much driving wind as possible. The intercoolers can be used in turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines. When choosing, it should be ensured that the intercooler is not too large for the engine, as this would affect responsiveness, and it should also not be too small. The intercooler offered here is completely made of aluminum with cast housings and has a bar and plate core, ideal for motorsport and tuning applications. Each intercooler is tested up to 5 bar before delivery.
