In the closed state, the exhaust gases are routed through the muffler, as soon as the flap is open, part of it goes through a straight pipe, making the exhaust louder. The pressure-controlled flap is closed in the vacuum range, and opens as soon as overpressure / boost pressure occurs. A hose is laid from the intake manifold to the pressure canister of the flap, or the flap is regulated via a remote control or switch. A control valve is installed in the hose.
